Wastewater Collection and Discharge
The Wastewater Treatment Facility was built in 1981 and dedicated on September 19, 1983. By the formation and resolution of the American Valley Community Services Authority in 1995, East Quincy Services District's pipeline connects to the Wastewater Treatment Facility for treatment and discharge. Raw wastewater from East Quincy Services District enters the Wastewater Treatment Facility at the grit chamber area and passes through a grinder. The Facility receives and treats approximately one million gallons per day.
The requirements for discharge are established by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit.
In 2006, the District treated approximately 344 million gallons of wastewater.
There are two lift stations; one Headworks pumping station (three-25 Hp pumps); one disposal system (irrigates 200 acres, three dams, and three pumping stations); 17 miles of sewer main; and one septage receiving station, which received 976,093 gallons in 2006. |
